Our home infusion team consists of pharmacists, nurse clinicians, clinical dietitians, intake specialists, patient delivery drivers, patient support personnel and account executives. Each member plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Our infusion and medical center team is comprised of key professionals, including the medical director, nurse practitioners, infusion nurses, specialty pharmacists, intake and billing specialists, and sales executives. Each member fulfills a vital role in providing outstanding care to our patients.

Dr. Varner R. Richards, President and CEO of Intramed

Varner R. Richards, Pharm. D.

Dr. Varner R. Richards, President and CEO of Intramed Plus, Inc., received his Doctor of Pharmacy in 1980 from the College of Pharmacy, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. He went on to complete a two-year General Pharmacy Residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY, 1980-1982. Dr. Richards served as the Assistant Director for Clinical Pharmacy Services at Richland Memorial Hospital, 1982-1988, and while there, initiated their Nutrition Support Service, Decentralized Pharmacy Services, Pain Management Service and Pharmacy Home Infusion Services.

In 1988, Dr. Richards ventured out and provided consultative services for a National Home Infusion Provider for 3 years. This opportunity created the segway for the development and launching of Intramed Plus, a South Carolina Home Infusion Provider in 1991. Dr. Richards has been involved in the home infusion industry for more than 40 years.

Dr. Richards has served on the Board of Directors for National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) and on the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center Advisory Committee. In April 2021, he was awarded the industry’s highest honor from the NHIA, the Gene Graves Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented each year to an individual who has dedicated significant time, energy, and resources to working on behalf of patients and the home infusion industry.

Medical Director of Infusion & Medical Centers

Ronnie Neuberg, MD

Dr. Ronnie Neuberg, MD, is the medical director for the Intramed Plus Infusion & Medical Centers in Greenville, Columbia and Charleston. He has focused his medical career on providing leading-edge care while keeping patients informed about their treatment options, with their comfort and safety as his priority.

Before joining Intramed Plus, Dr. Neuberg spent most of his 35 years in pediatric hematology and oncology practicing at Palmetto Health (now Prisma) Children’s Hospital in Columbia, SC, including 20 years as medical director.

A native of New York, Dr. Neuberg is a graduate of the University of Rochester. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his fellowship at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, before moving to South Carolina.
